MGP Appoints New Marketing, Operations Leads

October 29, 2025

MGP Ingredients has appointed Matias Bentel as chief marketing officer and Chris Wiseman as senior vice president, operations. Both executives report to Julie Francis, the Constellation and Coca-Cola veteran who was named MGP’s president and CEO this summer.

Bentel most recently served as the executive vice president, chief brands officer at Brown-Forman, prior to which he held various marketing roles at Diageo and Allied Domecq. Wiseman was most recently vice president of manufacturing at Schwan’s Company (where Francis was COO immediately prior to joining MGP). Before that, he led multiple facilities for Bimbo Bakeries USA.

Meanwhile, MGP posted third quarter sales down 19% to $131 million, as adjusted EBITDA fell 29% to $32 million. The decreases were “primarily due to the expected declines in our brown goods sales,” the company said.

MGP’s branded spirits sales slipped 3% to $61 million, despite 3% growth for its premium-plus brands, led by 70,000-case Penelope Bourbon. Gains in the premium-plus segment were offset by declines in the mid and value-priced portfolio, which fell a combined 7% “due to lower volumes of certain cordial and Tequila brands.” The company is targeting full-year sales of $525-$535 million and adjusted EBITDA of $110 to $115 million for its full fiscal year.—Daniel Marsteller
