•Craft beer bar and retail concept World of Beer is slated to open a new outpost in downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan, say local reports. Located on the first floor of a residential high-rise, the Ann Arbor location will be World of Beer’s first in Michigan, offering more than 500 domestic and imported beers and around 40 rotating selections on tap. Additionally, the 3,200-square-foot space will also serve as a live music and sports viewing venue. World of Beer Ann Arbor is expected to open by early spring. Founded in 2007 and based in Tampa, Florida, World of Beer currently operates 31 locations in 10 states across the U.S.

•San Marcos, California-based The Lost Abbey will release a variety pack, the Ultimate Box Set Collector’s Edition, on November 24. The set will contain one each of the 12 special edition beers from the brewery’s Ultimate Box Set series. Only 500 box sets will be available for purchase, priced at $450 and available only by lottery drawing. Each 375-ml. bottle features a custom-designed album sleeve with the full-sized art depicted on the label. The Lost Abbey’s Ultimate Box Set series began in January, with the brewery releasing one beer a month with names inspired by classic rock songs. The final beer of the series, Track 12, will be released on November 24 as well, coinciding with the release of the box set.
