Beam Steps Up Irish Whiskey Activities With Kilbeggan Ads, Redesign

March 19, 2013

Beam Inc. has unveiled a new ad campaign and look for its Kilbeggan Irish whiskey brand. The Kilbeggan campaign, launching nationally, features print, digital, out-of-home creative and on-premise events. It also includes an online video series, featuring “humorous antics” of local Kilbeggan residents and their reactions to the Irish whiskey being available in the U.S. The first two videos (of six total) are available now online, and the other four will roll out this month.

Concurrently, new packaging for Kilbeggan is now launching across the country. The bottle features a new label whose copper color and shape are designed to reflect the pot still used to produce the whiskey, as well as an image of the distillery and its water wheel.

Acquired as part of Beam’s $95 million purchase of Cooley Distillery in late 2011, Kilbeggan will be the company’s priority Irish whiskey brand in the U.S. market, although the Greenore, Connemara and Tyrconnell brands were also part of the deal.
