•Washington state’s Two Beers Brewing is rolling out its Presidential Pils label into the greater Seattle market. A Czech-style Pilsner featuring Saaz and Perle hops, the 4.8%-abv entry is also brewed with 100% Pilsner malt and a Czech Pils yeast strain. Presidential Pils will be available in 12-ounce cans at Two Beers’ The Woods tasting room, as well as select retail and grocery stores in the Seattle-Bellevue area, for a limited time through August. Founded in 2007, Two Beers Brewing currently produces five year-round offerings, seven seasonals and a range of specialties, with select brews available throughout Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Vancouver and northern Idaho.

•Cooperstown, New York-based Brewery Ommegang has unveiled the second beer, Take the Black Stout, in the Game of Thrones-inspired line it created in collaboration with HBO. It will be available on draft and in 750-ml. corked bottles this fall throughout Ommegang’s distribution network. Due to the success of the range’s first release, Iron Throne Blonde Ale, the brewer said it would more than double production for Take the Black Stout. The beer is brewed with base malts, caramel, chocolate and roasted barley malts and Northern Brewer hops, and spiced with licorice root and star anise. Predecessor Iron Throne Blonde Ale debuted in March to coincide with the beginning of Game of Thrones’ third season. Ommegang’s beers are currently available in 43 states and Washington, D.C.

•Washington’s Redhook Brewery has entered into a long-term sponsorship agreement with the University of Washington. In addition to becoming the official craft beer of the University of Washington athletics for the next 10 years, the partnership also ensures that Redhook will be a part of the opening of the newly renovated Husky Stadium, where it will have a branded area amongst premium seats. The deal also includes radio and print advertising as well as signage at “The Zone” tailgating event. Redhook, part of the Craft Brew Alliance, produces Audible Ale, ESB, Long Hammer, Pilsner, Winterhook, Wit and Mudslinger, among others.
