Glazer’s To Acquire Star Distributors, Strengthening Its Position In Tennessee

Glazer’s, Inc. is bolstering its presence in Tennessee’s largest market. The Dallas-based spirits and wine distributor has agreed to acquire majority control of Memphis’s Star Distributors Co. Star handles a host of leading suppliers in the Memphis market, including Diageo, Bacardi, Sazerac, Treasury Wine Estates, Moët Hennessy USA, Brown Forman, Constellation, Beam, Imperial Brands, Luxco, Freixenet, Aveníu, Jordan, and Vineyard Brands, among others.

Glazer’s entered Tennessee in 2011, when it purchased Victor L. Robilo. With both Star and Robilo doing the bulk of their business in Memphis, Glazer’s told SND that it “will be looking at options for synergies in the market.”
