RumChata Continues Explosive Growth In Half-Year Period
August 7, 2013Agave Loco’s RumChata rum cream liqueur brand ($19.95 a 750-ml.) continues to surge ahead, reporting a 70% increase in sales in the first six months of 2013 over the same period last year. An Impact “Hot Brand” that depleted 365,000 cases last year, RumChata is projected to top 600,000 cases for 2013.
RumChata, which debuted in 2009, is being driven largely by a strong on-premise performance, the company said. “We’re seeing outstanding on-premise turnover,” added RumChata founder and master blender Tom Maas, noting that the rollout of additional bottle sizes a year ago—including 1.75-liter, 375-ml. and 50-ml. bottles in addition to its core 1-liter and 750-ml. sizes—has also helped boost the brand.
