Saint Arnold Brewing Co. is set to enter Florida this year. The Houston, Texas-based brewery has inked distribution deals with Coastal Beverage, Gold Coast Eagle Distributing, Great Bay Distributors, Lewis Bear Company, Peace River Distributing, Pepin Distributing, Suncoast Beverage Sales and Tri Eagle Sales across the Gulf Coast region spanning Pensacola to Naples. Saint Arnold’s Fancy Lawnmower Beer, Elissa IPA and Christmas Ale will initially be available only on tap, with expansion into retail with six-packs to follow. Florida marks Saint Arnold’s fourth market, joining Texas, Louisiana and Colorado. In other company news, Saint Arnold is re-releasing its single-batch Divine Reserve No. 4 Scotch ale in a new barrel-aged format as part of its Bishop’s Barrel series. For its return, Divine Reserve was aged nine months in Old Forester Bourbon barrels, and will be available in limited quantities on-premise in Texas and Louisiana.

•California’s Coronado Brewing has re-released Stupid Stout, a seasonal American Imperial Stout. The returning 9%-abv offering is characterized by dark, chocolatey flavors, as well as a hint of hop freshness. Stupid Stout is available in 22-ounce bottles and on draft across Coronado Brewing’s 14-state footprint through January 2014, with a barrel-aged, small-batch version of the brew offered on tap as well. Originally produced in 2008 as an English Stout and re-released in 2011 with a new West Coast-style recipe, Stupid Stout is joined in Coronado’s portfolio by 10 year-round and seasonal offerings, including the brewer’s core Coronado Golden, Orange Ave Wit and Islander IPA labels, among others.

•Juneau’s Alaskan Brewing Co. has unveiled the 2013 vintage of its Alaskan Smoked Porter. Packaged in 22-ounce bottles, the 2013 Alaskan Smoked Porter is made with a smoked malt that allows for years of aging. The limited edition offering, which first began being released in the late 1980s, will be available across Alaskan Brewing’s 15-state footprint starting this month. In addition to its limited editions, Alaskan Brewing produces five year-round expressions and three seasonals as part of its core portfolio.
