Jack Daniel’s 10% Sales Growth Propels Brown-Forman To Solid First-Half Gains
December 4, 2013Brown-Forman’s net sales advanced by 4% in the first half of its fiscal 2014, as double-digit underlying sales growth for the Jack Daniel’s franchise drove the company to solid growth both in its home U.S. market and abroad.
The Jack Daniel’s range posted 10% underlying sales growth for the six-month period ended October 31, 2013, propelled by a 30% jump in Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey’s sales. Woodford Reserve also enjoyed a standout performance, as the upscale Bourbon entry posted 27% underlying net sales growth.
The Louisville, Kentucky-based Brown-Forman achieved 5% underlying net sales growth in the U.S. market in its first half, while sales in developed markets outside the U.S. grew by 7%. Growth was especially strong in the U.K., France, and Japan, with each delivering low double-digit growth. Australia and Germany’s underlying sales were each up by low single-digits.
