•The Cannabist Company has expanded the Dreamt brand into dispensaries in Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Virginia. The brand, marketed as a sleep aid, currently consists of gummies and a tincture, both with a 5:2:1 ratio of THC, CBD, and CBN. The gummies come in packs of 20 and the tincture has 30 servings per bottle and is exclusive to Massachusetts ahead of a wider rollout later this spring.

•Curaleaf has launched Anthem, a new brand of pre-rolls, in New York, Illinois, Massachusetts, and New Jersey. The pre-rolls come in 5- and 10-packs of 0.35g joints, 5-packs of 0.7g joints, and individual one gram pre-rolls. In addition, Curaleaf plans to roll the brand out in Arizona and Florida shortly. In Curaleaf’s portfolio, Anthem sits alongside multistate dispensary brands like Select, Grassroots, Reef, Find, and Zero Proof, and the hemp-derived offerings from The Hemp Company.

•Minnesota has approved new rules for adult-use cannabis sales, with an administrative judge signing off on the state’s plans for legal sales. With this approval, the state can begin to issue licenses to pre-approved applicants as well as open the lotteries to divvy up the limited licenses for cultivation, manufacture, and retail. The first licenses will be issued to businesses who have completed the state’s pre-approval process, which covers background checks, labor agreements, and other governmental approvals. The approved rules will go into effect this month, but it could still take up to a year for sales to begin, according to local reports.

•California authorities have seized over $316 million in black-market cannabis so far this year. According to the state, they’ve confiscated 212,681 plants and nearly $500,000 in cash in raids conducted by a combination of local and state agencies. Since 2019, the state has seized 1.7 million pounds of illicit cannabis, worth more than $3 billion at retail. For 2024, the state seized roughly $530 million worth of cannabis. “As California’s legal cannabis market expands, we have a responsibility to crack down on the nefarious actors that put public health at risk and undermine the progress we’ve made,” said Governor Gavin Newsom in a statement. “Unlicensed, unregulated products threaten consumer safety and jeopardize the integrity of this industry.”
